Interior Design
in Southern Georgian Bay
For over 30 years, Rêve Interior Design Studio has helped homeowners across Southern Georgian Bay plan, select, and finish spaces that work for how they actually live. We’re based in Midland, where our studio and showroom sit side by side, so design guidance and product selection happen in the same conversation instead of two separate appointments.
Southern Georgian Bay isn’t one type of market. It’s full-time family homes, downsizers, new builds, and waterfront cottages, often within the same neighbourhood. That mix is exactly why our approach isn’t a fixed package. We start by figuring out what your project actually needs, then bring in the right level of design support.

A Region With Two Kinds of Homes
A year-round home in this region has to perform every day, through four seasons of use, guests, kids, pets, and everything else. A cottage or seasonal property has a different set of demands entirely: humidity, closures over winter, and finishes that can handle a summer of sandy feet and steady traffic. We design for both, and we don’t treat a cottage project like a scaled-down version of a house project. The priorities are genuinely different, and the material choices should reflect that.
This matters most in kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring, where the wrong material for the setting shows up fast, whether that’s a countertop that stains in a cottage kitchen or a floor that doesn’t hold up to a busy family entryway.
Why a Local Showroom Changes the Process
Unlike a lot of interior design services that work entirely from photos and swatches, our Midland showroom means you can put your hand on the actual cabinetry finish, flooring plank, or countertop slab before committing. That matters more than it sounds like it should. Colours and textures read differently under a phone screen than they do in daylight next to your paint chip. For homeowners across Southern Georgian Bay, that showroom is a short drive rather than a special trip, which makes it easy to come back a second or third time before finalizing a decision.
How We Work With You
Every project starts with a conversation about your space, your timeline, and how involved you want to be in the details. From there, we recommend one of a few ways to work together:
The mood board
Design component curation—from $500
À la carte design
The technical drawings you need
The Rêve Design Package
White glove service with 3D renderings
Other design services
From furniture layout to in-home consultations
The Mood Board From $500
For smaller updates like a vanity refresh or a single room’s furnishings. You’ll get a curated set of selections built around a conversation about your vision, without the cost of a full technical process.
À la carte design $900 per room
Best for homeowners or contractors handling one room at a time. Includes an on-site consultation and measurement, 2D CAD layouts with basic colour renderings, and up to two hours of finish and fixture selection across flooring, cabinetry, plumbing, and lighting.
The Rêve Design Package From $2,500
Our full-service option for new builds and whole-property renovations. A six-step process that includes a laminated design booklet with 3D renders, a full construction package with CAD drawings and elevations, and an as-built layout with cost estimates, tracked through a client portal from first consultation to final install.
A Second Opinion
Some clients don’t need a full process, just confirmation. We offer in-home consultations and furniture layout support for homeowners who’ve mostly landed on a direction and want a designer to sign off on the final decisions.
Where We Work
Our studio is based in Midland, and we regularly work with clients throughout Southern Georgian Bay, including Penetanguishene and Wasaga Beach, on both full-time homes and cottage properties.
Meet the Team Behind the Process
Designers Jamie Schaack and Emily Reddick lead every project at our studio. You won’t get a sales pitch on the first call. Instead, they’ll ask about how you use the space, what’s not working, and what the project actually needs before recommending a service level. Some clients arrive with a clear vision. Others need help putting words to what they want. Both conversations end the same way: with a clear next step.

FAQ
ask us anything
What's the difference between designing a cottage and a full-time home?
Cottages need to handle seasonal wear, humidity, and closures over winter, while year-round homes need to hold up to daily use across every season. We select materials differently depending on which type of property you’re working with.
Do I need to visit the showroom, or can this be done remotely?
You’re welcome to start over the phone or by email, but we’d recommend a showroom visit before finalizing material selections. Seeing a finish in person, especially for flooring and countertops, tends to prevent costly surprises later.
I only need help with one room. Is that still worth booking a consultation for?
Yes. Our À la carte service is built for exactly that, one room at a time, without needing to commit to a full-property process.
Can you work with my contractor or builder?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with contractors and builders on material selections, layouts, and technical drawings for both renovation and new-build projects.
